ROBERT ANTHONY SAFFORD

SAFFORD, ROBERT A., 57, of Mill St., West Warwick, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

Born in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late Alonzo C. and Doris (Beckey) Safford.

Robert was a Coventry High School graduate, class of 1980. He went on to the New England Institute of Technology studying Computer Technology. Robert had been a Head Chef for the C & B Corporation operating the former Ma Glockner’s restaurant and the Route 1 Cinema Pub from 1995 to 2003. He had been a manager for East Side Enterprises where he was responsible for the operation of three convenience stores. Robert later was a manager for the Hess Corporation for 10 years. More recently, he returned to his true passion; cooking, and was employed as a Sous Chef at B’z Breakfast Burgers & Beyond.

Robert was the father of Drew Safford, Kelsey Safford, Cameron and Conor Safford. He was the brother of Sharon K. Wagner and MaryBeth Florenz.

Services and interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Coventry will be private.  Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3) Coventry.  iannottifh.com
