YUROVCHAK, ROBERT R., 81, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was the loving husband of 27 years to Laurie (Larner) Yurovchak.
Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Andrew and Sue (Sitoski) Yurovchak.
Growing up in Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania, graduated and attended Penn State University. Robert proudly enlisted in the United States Navy with his best friend Bob Boyer. He was a proud Navy Veteran Serving on the USS Essex and USS Lake Champlain until being stationed at Quonset Point RI, upon his Honorable Discharge, Robert went on to further his education, and graduated from Rhode Island College, earning his bachelor's degree. Always mechanically inclined, Robert owned and operated his own successful Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration business for many years. A Maintenance Engineer, Bob Director of Maintenance of Kent Hospital , Metropolitan Insurance and AAA New England before becoming a teacher at New England Institute of Technology, Warwick.
In his spare time, Robert enjoyed playing golf and especially loved classic cars. He was a member of the PNA Golf League playing every Thursday for over 50 years. He was a lifelong automobile enthusiast, restoring many vehicles throughout his life, most recently his prize winning 1951 Studebaker “Bullet Nose” Commander. He was a member of the Corvette Club of Bristol County, and was a friend of “Crusin’ Bruce” Palmer, having attended countless cruise nights throughout Southern New England. He was a member of the Crompton Veterans Organization. After retirement he enjoyed tinkering in the garage working on his cars and could fix anything and everything, and was there to lend a hand in an instant if your car wouldn’t start or the boiler wouldn’t kick on. Most of all his family and friends who were considered family were the center of his universe.
He was the loving father of Brenda M. (Yurovchak) Holmes, Richard Yurovchak and his wife Tina, and John(Jack)Every and his wife Karima. Adoring grandfather of seven,Anystasia Holmes(Rex), Danika Holmes(Allain), Jordana Izzo(Gaetano), Andrew Pettit (Alexia)Amber Pettit (Max)Serena Every and Lucy Every; Great grandfather of eight Alexander Holmes, Amaya Bertrand ,Connar Roby, Salvatore Izzo,Leonardo Izzo,Scarlett Mann, Cody Pettit and Chloe Pettit. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Rebecca Yurovchak and a grandson Timothy Hart. Brother of Delores Walp, David Yurovchak, William Yurovchak, and the late James Yurovchak. Terry Cournoyer who he considered a son, his wife Beverly and children Ashley Colby and Danielle. Joseph Barrette, who he considered a brother and his wife Beverly, and children Kenneth and Joshua. Uncle of Diana, Barbara, Deborah, Pamela, Judy, Donna, Cathy, Larry, David, Jacquiline, Jamie, Jennifer, Beverly, and Beth Ann. Brother in law to Richard Larner and his wife Cheryl and William, his mother in law Marilyn
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 (NOON) in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. A Funeral Service and Military Funeral Honors to commence at 12:00 (NOON).
