DORIAN, ROBERT S. “Doc” Jr., 67, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at Westerly Hospital on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 39 years to Colleen (Handrigan) Dorian
Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, Robert was the son of the late Robert S. Dorian Sr. and Mary Agnes (Roscoe) Dorian.
Aside from his loving wife, Colleen, Robert is survived by his two children, Jonathan Robert Dorian, his wife Danielle, of Coventry, and Meaghan Elizabeth Dorian, of Coventry. A loving Grampy to Addison G. Dorian “Munchkin” and Violetta R. Dorian “Peanut Butter”. He was the brother of Suzanne Hatch of Pawtucket, and the late Linda Hamann. Robert is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he continued his service to his country, helping to defend the country by building Nuclear Submarines. He spent 48 years as a Multitrade/Shipfitter & Instructor at General Dynamics Electric Boat. Robert also was a huge NASCAR fan following his short amateur career as a late model stock car driver. A die hard FORD fan.
Robert had a love for music and you could usually find him dancing to anything during the summers, while camping with friends and family. He always had his favorite Busch beer in hand.
Robert was a boy scout leader for over 10 years, with a passion for teaching young scouts life skills. He also loved bowling and golfing, with his proudest moment getting a Hole In One at East Greenwich country club. Robert was a man of few words most of the time. However above all, any time spent with his family is what he loved most. He will forever be missed, until The Twelfth of Never and that’s a long long time.
