ROLAND SIEMBAB Obituary

SIEMBAB, ROLAND STANISLAUS,  90, of Lenexa, KS, passed away on March 23, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice House.

Roland was born on August 22, 1928 to Peter and Leonide (Cotnoir) Siembab in Coventry, RI. He is survived by his two daughters, Paula Hatem, of Wilton, CT, and Nancy Carolan (Patrick), of Overland Park, KS, 5 grandchildren, Danielle Havrilesko (Ben), Alex Carolan (Kirsten), Sean Carolan, Tyler Carolan, Samantha Carolan, and 2 great grandchildren, Jack Havrilesko and Ryan Carolan, and his brother Raymond Siembab (Lillian), of Coventry, RI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Barbara Siembab (Nietupski).

Roland joined the military and was a proud member of the US Army Intelligence during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. On December 29, 1951 he married Ann. He worked as a Finance Manager for GMAC for over 40 years and was a branch manager on Long Island, NY. GMAC took them from Coventry, RI to Waterford, CT, Poughkeepsie and Tappan, NY, Eden Prairie, MN and Greenwich, RI, where they resided for 25 years before moving to KS. They lived in Lenexa, KS, for the past two years enjoying time with family and making new friends.

To Roland, family and friends were of utmost importance. He adored his beloved wife, Ann, and their daughters. Friends were often included in gatherings and holidays like extended family members. Socializing with friends was a common occurrence, as the Siembab house was the place to go to, with Roland being the life of the party. Roland cherished and maintained these relationships his entire life. He was very involved with the West Greenwich Happy Seniors Group, meeting with fellow GM retirees, and planning high school reunions. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid bingo player. Roland loved competition as a life-long sports enthusiast including participation, coaching his daughters, and as a fan, especially for his beloved Red Sox. He was known for his intelligence, having been President of his high school class, and his quick wit and sense of humor. Roland was a "people person" with people naturally gravitating to him for companionship and conversation. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family.

A Committal Service with military honors will be at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel, Nooseneck Hill Road, West Greenwich, RI on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10 a.m.
