GRINNELL, ROY W., 73, of Lady Lake, FL, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away peacefully in Oxford, Florida on March 1, 2023. He was the loving husband of nearly 53 years to Donna (Dessaint) Grinnell.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Robert J. Sr. and Charlotte M. (Cartopy) Grinnell.
Spending his childhood in the Greenwood section of Warwick, Roy attended Warwick Veterans High School and graduated in 1967. After High School, he served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud disabled Vietnam Veteran.
He spent his career crafting and refining precious metals for The Gannon & Scott Company. In his free time, Roy enjoyed golfing, boating, and fishing with his friends. Above all, anytime Roy was spending with his family, especially his grandchildren, was what he cherished most.
Besides his wife, Roy is survived by his children, Brad J. Grinnell (Kylie), Brian W. Grinnell (Shannon), and Jared L. Grinnell (Jaime). He was the loving grandfather of Andrew, Aidan, and Mazie Grinnell; brother of Margaret Bruno, David Grinnell, Kim Grinnell, and the late Robert Grinnell Jr.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (Route 3), Coventry.
Roy’s Inurnment and Committal Prayers with Military Funeral Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter will be respectfully private.
