WARWICK- Robert J. Valliere, 84, of Warwick, a former longtime resident of West Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the devoted husband for 63 years to the love of his life, Pauline (Laporte) Valliere also of Warwick.
Born on February 8, 1937, he was the eldest of two children born to the late Eugene and Ina (Laforce) Valliere.
Robert worked for many years at General Dynamics in Quonset, as a Truck Driver, a job from which he retired. He was also employed for a number of years at CJ Coutu Lumber in West Warwick.
A proud and patriotic man, Robert served for nearly 10 years, over different periods of time, in the Rhode Island Army National Guard. He achieved the rank of Sgt. (E-5) and he worked in Artillery.
In his spare time, Robert was a member of the Little Rhody Beagle Club. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and woodworker.
Robert was the loving father to his cherished children: Ronald Valliere; Cheryl McKinney and her husband, Gerry; and the late Paul and David Valliere. He will be fondly remembered by his beloved daughter-in-law, Deborah (Valliere) Lavoie and He was the doting Pepe to his treasured grandchildren: Nicholas Valliere; Jamie Keedy; Rachel Valliere; Danielle Rezendes; Alyssa Valliere; and the late Craig Valliere. He is also survived by his younger brother: Raymond Valliere and his wife, Jean; and also his extended family members and friends.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday May 26, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Warwick.
