SCOTT GETTINGS Obituary
GETTINGS, SCOTT J., 38, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.
Born in Attleboro, MA he was a son of Deborah Seastrom, her husband Robert, and the late Allan Joseph Gettings.
Scott graduated from West Warwick High School and then went on to attend New England Institute of Technology where he earned two degrees in Marine Technology and Autobody Mechanics. Most recently, Scott was employed as a Field Service Technician for Crown Equipment Corporation where he was a skilled Forklift Operator.
In his free time, Scott enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a world champion fisherman. In 2005 he won the Junior Bassmaster World Championship and was honored by the State of Rhode Island House of Representatives for his achievements. Scott's sense of humor and giving spirit will truly be missed. Above all, being a father was what he valued most.
Scott was the loving father of Hunter Joseph Gettings. He was the loving brother of Sandra Cannon, her husband Kyle of Newport, NH, Elizabeth Seastrom of West Warwick, and Matthew Clemente of Westport, MA. Scott is survived by his soulmate, Amy Bates. He is also survived by his longtime best friend, Richard McCoy.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Warwick is respectfully private.
Those planning to attend Scott’s funeral services are encouraged to dress comfortably and casually.
