STEPHEN WILLIAM CORREIRA

CORREIRA, STEPHEN W., 77, of Coventry,  passed away suddenly at Kent Hospital on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Donna J. (Greene) Correira. The couple would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on April 2, 2026. Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Antone and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Crandall) Correira.

Stephen graduated from East Greenwich High School, class of 1966. He went on to a dedicated 39 year career as a planner and a supervisor at General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown before retiring in 2014. After retiring, Stephen and Donna bought a retro camper and took advantage of Rhode Island’s scenic coastal campgrounds by enjoying many summer days at Fisherman's Memorial State Park. Stephen and Donna loved to hike with their dogs throughout New England and cruise to many tropical destinations. When Stephen’s two daughters were younger, the three would attend many classic car shows. Stephen mostly loved to spend time with his family, especially his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Stephen had served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard for six years.

He was the caring father of Susan M. Williams of Greene, and Renee E. Papa and her husband David of Northbridge, MA. Stephen was the adoring grandfather of Zachary Williams, Hayley Williams and her partner Ethan Farrell, Dylan Williams, Blake Williams, Matthew Papa and Ashley Papa; and the great-grandfather of Brooklyn and Jaxon. He was the brother of David Correira of Wakefield, Andrew Correira and his wife Bonnie of East Greenwich, and the late Judith Hodgkinson.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, with a Funeral Service at 12:30 pm  in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (I95/exit 18/Rte.3) in Coventry. Interment at East Greenwich Cemetery to follow.  iannottifh.com
