STEPHEN EUGENE LAWRENCE

LAWRENCE, STEPHEN E., 82, of Richmond and formerly of Coventry, passed away at home on Thursday evening, July 28, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Mary M.”Linda” (Northup) Lawrence in August 2021. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Manuel and Mildred J. (Swanson) Lawrence.

Stephen was employed at Electric Boat in Groton for several years before seeking employment at Hoechst-Celanese in Coventry as a warehouseman and a forklift operator from 1966 until retiring. Stephen served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963. He and his late wife Linda, belonged to the Johnson’s Pond Civic Association.

He was the brother of Larry Lawrence, Raymond Lawrence and Joyce Clausen all of West Warwick. Stephen is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Drew J. Carson and his wife Christine of Richmond and Kyle C. Carson and his wife Brea of Greene.

A Funeral Service will be on Thursday morning, August 4, 2022 at 10 am in the Iannotti Funeral at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., Coventry (I95,exit 6,Rte.3). Interment with military honors at Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich. Visiting hours are prior to the Funeral Service from 9 am to 10 am.
