STEPHEN J. SMITH

SMITH, STEPHEN J., 58, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was the loving husband of Hayley Garcia.  

Born in Providence, RI he was the son of Beverly (Bennett) Smith and the late Halley Smith. 

Stephen loved spending time with his family and was especially proud of his children, Madison, Laurel, Sydney and Harrison and stepdaughter Milena.

Stephen graduated from URI College of Pharmacy 1996 and worked at several pharmacies during his career. He proudly served in Iraq as a Captain during Iraqi freedom and was the recipient of Meritorious Service Metal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Metal, National Defense Service Metal, Global War on Terrorism Service Metal, Iraq Campaign Metal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve metal W/M device, Combat Action Badge.

He is also survived by his sisters, Gail Pike, Charlena Smith, Deborah Dunphy, Kerry Smith and was a brother to Michael Smith, Halley Smith, Justin Smith and the late Charles Smith. He also remained close to his former wife Lisa Vizzacco.

Stephen’s Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Riverpoint Advent Christian Church, 1107 Main Street, West Warwick. Burial with Military Funeral Honors to follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
