DIPALMA, STEVEN J. 71, of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly at Kent Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday evening, July 3, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Margaret H. “Peg” (Fitzgerald) DiPalma for 32 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Dante U. and Olga (Scrocco) DiPalma.
Growing up in the Natick section of West Warwick, Steven graduated from WWHS, class of 1972. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from URI in 1976. Always known for his hard work and dedication, Steven began his career in the RI Jewelry industry at the former Dansal Corporation, employed there for over 20 years. He was a sales representative, manager, and basically did whatever needed to be achieved for the success of the company. He later was employed as production manager for the Forman Mfg. Co. in Attleboro, MA for over 12 years, retiring in 2008. Steven also worked for Sears as an HVAC sales representative and most recently at the Walmart in Coventry over the last 10 years. Being very outgoing, Steven liked the social aspect of this job in his later years. Steven enjoyed spending time with his family, the RI beaches, and fishing. He also followed certain TV shows such as Pickers, the Curse of Oak Island, Ancient Aliens, and Pawn Stars. He was a frequent viewer of the Business station, an interest that started when he was in college and continued throughout his life. He was so proud of his sons and grandchildren. He believed strongly in family and never failed to be present at family functions.
Steven was the father of Steven A. DiPalma and his wife Christina of Warwick, Dylan J. DiPalma of Providence; and the grandfather of Jayden and Ariana. He was the brother of David A. DiPalma, Esq. (Carol) of Lincoln, Lorraine A. Quirk (Bill) of Westerly, Anthony M. DiPalma (Donna) of Cranston, and Mary E. Hebert of West Warwick. Steven is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday morning, July 9, 2025 at 10 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry. Interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
