TERRY, SUSAN E, 71, of Warwick, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side after a short illness on Sunday April 20, 2025 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence.
While born in Warwick on August 11, 1953, Susan Terry was a long-term resident of East Greenwich. Susan was the daughter of the late William and Virginia (Catanio) Byrne and the widow of the late Pierre Greggory Terry.
Susan lived in East Greenwich for 39 years where she started her own family. She was always compassionate and loving. Susan was a natural born caregiver to those young and old. She was a lifelong animal lover and had a special affinity to her cats, especially her dear feline companion “Jubless”; a name derived from “God Bless”. This name and empathetic lifestyle came as no surprise as she was always a woman of strong faith. Susan was always guided by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ until the very end when he called her to him on Easter Sunday.
Susan carried an abundance of love to share and embrace with her large family of loved ones she leaves behind. Each one of them holding a special place in her heart; especially her daughter Heather Jean Morton of Warwick. She leaves behind her grandchildren who she cherished and brought her so much joy; Nathan James Morton and Abigail Elizabeth Morton of Warwick, her beloved sister Cynthia (Byrne) Johnson and brother-in-law Wayne Johnson of Richmond, RI. She was the loving aunt to Christine Dumas; (Susan’s God-daughter); Kimberley Johnson and Amy Irons. Susan was also a loving Great-Aunt to Chelsey Dumas-Gibbs (Susan’s God-daughter); Carissa Lavigne, Cortney Joslin, Syndey Irons and Gavin Irons. Susan also leaves behind four beautiful Great-Great Nieces that she adored Arianna and Braelyn Dumas-Gibbs, Laney and Myla Joslin.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 10:00am – 11:30am with a funeral service at 11:30am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road(Route 3), Coventry. Burial and committal prayers to follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail. Reception to follow will be private.
