MAYNARD, SUZANNE L. (LACAILLADE) 87, of Coventry, passed away at the South County Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, May 25, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard M. “Skip” Maynard in 1991. Born in Coventry, and a lifelong resident, Suzanne was a daughter of the late Alfred and Diane (Hebert) Lacaillade.
After graduating from Coventry High School, Suzanne went on to earn a Degree from the RI Hospital School of Nursing. Suzanne was employed as a Registered Nurse at Eleanor Slater Hospital for over 28 years before retiring in 1993. Upon retiring, Suzanne truly enjoyed being engaged in her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren's lives.
Suzanne was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a strong Catholic faith and was a lifetime parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church where she received all the sacraments.
She was the mother of Thomas G. Maynard and his partner Kim Pratt and Amanda J. Casavant and her husband Paul, all of Coventry. Suzanne was the mother-in-law of the late Claire M. Roche. She was the grandmother of Jared G. Maynard, Alexandra L. Phillips, Caitlin D. Maynard, and Abigail E. Bleichner; and the great-grandmother of Haleigh, Ava, Charlotte, Liam, Claire, Zella and Camille. Suzanne was the sister of the late Armand Lacallaide, Alfred Lacallaide and Jacqueline Rockwell.
Her funeral will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 8:45 am from the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 6 St. Vincent de Paul St., Coventry, RI. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich. Visiting hours will be on Friday evening, June 5, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org) would be appreciated.
