SYLVIA LOUISE BLACK

BLACK, SYLVIA L., age 84, of Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Bernard D. and Eula E. (Keefe) Black.

After graduating from High School, Sylvia began a dedicated and productive career at the Narragansett Electric Manchester Street and South Street Power Stations in Providence for over 30 years. Sylvia worked her way up to Thermal operator before retiring. 

Sylvia is survived by her niece Laurie A. Cloutier and her husband Keith, nephew Steven M. Black, and niece Julie A. Cloutier, all of Coventry. Sylvia also leaves six great-nieces and great-nephews. Sylvia was the sister of the late David B. Black and Sandra E. Marino. She also leaves her sister-in-law Judith A. Black.

Sylvia enjoyed following NASCAR, and watching the New England professional sports teams, especially the Patriots and Celtics. In her younger days, Sylvia was a professional roller skater.

Visiting hours will be Sunday morning, December 22, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington, St. (Rte.117) Coventry. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Coventry. Please omit flowers. iannottifh.com
