TADD BETTEZ Obituary

BETTEZ, TADD, 45, of West Greenwich, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on the morning of Wednesday, December 11, 2024. He was the loving husband of Sarah (Riebe) Bettez.

Born in Providence, he was a son of Anthony and Mary Lou (Mazzuchelli) Bettez.

Tadd was the loving father of Blake Bettez; brother of Maylin Walsh, her husband Brian, of West Warwick.  Tadd is also survived by his loving in-laws Rick and Joyce  Riebe of Coventry, Aunt Emiletta Godfrin (Peter) of North Providence, Uncle John Mazzuchelli (Gerri Bullock) of North Providence, Aunt Louise Bettez of Acton, MA,  Uncle Joe Theroux (Dawn), Aunt Marion Lenihan (Pat) and nieces Lila and Kayleigh Riebe of Coventry. He is also survived by many close cousins, extended family members, and many friends.

Tadd was a Journeyman Carpenter for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He loved working with his hands and had a creative flair for design which he shared with family, friends, and co-workers.

Tadd’s life was marked by resilience, strength, and a deep love for family. After facing challenges in his early years, he turned his life around with remarkable determination. When his father fell ill, Tadd and Sarah did not hesitate to uproot their family and return home to help care for his dad.

Tadd fulfilled his father’s dream of building a home in West Greenwich. Overlooking breathtaking sunsets, this home became a sanctuary for Tadd and his family. When asked about his bucket list during his illness, Tadd reflected that building and living in that home was at the very top — a dream realized through his determination and love for his family.

Amongst many hobbies, Tadd was passionate about Fantasy Football with his friend, Aaron. They spent countless hours setting up their lineup to battle out a win to make it to the Superbowl. To the chagrin of their wives, they spent a lot of time on their phones during football season.

A devoted fisherman, Tadd found immense joy in sharing this passion with his son Blake and his wife Sarah. The three spent countless hours by the water, making memories that will last a lifetime. He felt most at peace at Roy Carpenter’s Beach, a place that always felt like home to him, their family, and their friends.

Tadd will be remembered for his fierce independence, his willingness to help those in need, and his unshakeable commitment to his loved ones. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who know him, especially his wife Sarah and son Blake, who carry forward his love and strength.

Tadd was loved and cherished by many- most particularly his Vova and Godfathers, Uncle Roland and Uncle Dennis, who along with his dad welcomed him home.
