TERESA J. MARTINS

MARTINS, TERESA J., 72, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of 32 years to the late Miguel Martins, who predeceased Teresa in 2006. 

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Teresa was a daughter of the late Jose and Angelina (Viera) Sardinha.  

As a young woman, Teresa immigrated to the United States and settled in West Warwick, Rhode Island where she and her husband Miguel raised their family. Always having a strong work ethic, Teresa was a Machine Operator for many years at the former Leviton Manufacturing,Warwick and Conneaut Industries, West Greenwich.   

Above all, Teresa was a devout catholic and a woman of strong faith. She found solace in prayer and not a day passed where Teresa did not Pray the Rosary. She was a lifelong Communicant at her beloved St. Anthony’s Church, West Warwick. She also had a talent for knitting and she loved to cook and host meals for her family and loved ones. 

Teresa was the loving mother of Lucy F. Medeiros, and Donna M. Couto, her husband Arthur, all of West Warwick. She was the beloved grandmother of Skyla Medeiros, Kyle Medeiros, and Mia Couto. She was the sister of Maria Ponte, Maria Fontes, and Jose Goncalves. Teresa is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews.   

Teresa’s funeral will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 8:45 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Ave., West Warwick. Burial with Committal Prayers to follow at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry. Visiting hours Wednesday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Arrangements are by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
