WARWICK- Therese A. Tomasso, 96, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston. She was the devoted wife to the love of her life, Domenic B. Tomasso, who passed away on July 19, 2009.
Born on September 13, 1925, in Acushnet, Massachusetts, she was the fifth of six children born to the late Wilfred and Elodia (St. Martin) Lantagne. Therese grew up in West Warwick. She attended school at Christ the King Church, which is where she also received her Sacraments.
One night, while joining her girlfriends out for a night of dancing, Therese met a young gentleman who had recently returned home from the service. In 1950, that man would become her husband of nearly 60 years. Together, Therese and her husband, Domenic, raised their three children in Warwick.
Having the important job of raising her three kids, Therese worked many years as a Homemaker. She took great pride in ensuring that her home was a welcoming and comforting place for all.
In her spare time, Therese enjoyed solving word puzzles and reading. Above all, she was most happy when she was in the presence of and making memories with her dear family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Therese is survived by her three cherished children: Susan T. Pasch and her husband Paul of Coventry, Steven D. Tomasso and his wife Elizabeth of Omaha, NE, and Donna M. Greig and her husband Norman of West Warwick; her 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and also numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her late parents and husband, Therese is predeceased by her sisters: Laurette Demers, Edna Urban, and Rita Gendron; and her brothers: Lionel Lantagne and Andre Lantagne.
