THOMAS CASTALDI Obituary
CASTALDI, THOMAS A., 77, of Coventry, passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the loving husband of nearly 40 years to Lydia (Donnelly) Castaldi.
Born in Providence, Thomas was a son of the late Emile and Helen (Vincent) Castaldi.
As a young man, Tom proudly enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Vietnam, Tom was awarded two Bronze Star Medals for his bravery during combat. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he returned home where he worked at Coca Cola and General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton, CT, before ultimately opening his own business, TLC Appliances & Service, which he operated for over 20 years.
Tom was the current President of the Amici Club, West Warwick where he was a lifelong member. Tom was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 2, West Warwick. In his retirement, Tom enjoyed travelling the country in his motor home with his beloved wife, Lydia by his side, and making memories along the way. Tom will also be remembered for his quick witted and sarcastic sense of humor.
Thomas is survived by his loving children David T. Castaldi, and his wife Sheryl of West Warwick, Amy L. Castaldi of Providence, William E. Castaldi and his wife Joelle, of West Warwick, Lydia M. D’Arezzo, and her husband Richard of Coventry, Brian P. Reynolds of North Carolina, and the late David J. Spencer. Adoring grandfather of 18; great grandfather of 16. He was the brother of Robin Cote (Rick), Henry Castaldi (Fatima), both of Plainfield, CT, and the late Cynthia Azevedo, Kathy Johnson, and Debra Gleavey.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, with a Funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. Committal Prayers with Military Funeral Honors to follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
