RAY, THOMAS A., 95, of Hilltop Avenue, West Warwick, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was the loving husband of 70 years to the late June G. Ray.
Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary A. (Ferris) Ray.
Tom proudly served his country during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He then worked for many years as a Lace Weaver and was also the manager of the former Evelyn’s Villa in West Warwick. In his retirement, Tom was a dedicated volunteer at the West Warwick Food Pantry where he served his community for nearly a decade.
Thomas was the father of Leslie A. Ray of Warwick, Julie A. Mansour of Coventry, and the late Gail F. (Ray) Coken. He was the brother of the late Francis Ray, Alfred Ray, George Ray, and Evelyn (Ray) Simas. Grandfather of 8; great grandfather of 9.
Tom’s family would also like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff members of Beacon Hospice and Saint Elizabeth’s Memory Care Facility, Warwick.
Visiting Hours will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry, RI. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive in Cranston. Interment to follow at Saint Mary Cemetery in West Warwick.
