DICAPRIO, Umberto, 87, of Torch Lane, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at West View Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Patricia L. (Cornell) DiCaprio and companion of Claire McParlin.
Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Pasquale DiCaprio Sr. and the late Rachela (Gazzero) DiCaprio.
Umberto served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a Firefighter with the crash rescue crew at TF Greene Airport for 38 years before retiring. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and loved the New York Yankees.
He is survived by a daughter, Dawn DiCaprio Buck and her husband Michael Buck of Voluntown, CT and a brother, Victor DiCaprio of West Warwick. He was the brother of the late Emelia DiCaprio, Antoinette Palazzo, Josephine DiCaprio, Felix DiCaprio, Vincenzo DiCaprio, Peter Ciccarone Sr., Antoinette Muschiano, Livia Mann, Alexander DiCaprio, Benito DiCaprio, Pasquale DiCaprio Jr. and Dante DiCaprio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Prayers and Military Honors on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
