BROSNAN, VIRGINIA M., 70, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was the loving wife of 24 years to James J. Brosnan III.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Thomas and Anna (O’Donnell) Dorgan.
As a young girl, Virginia worked alongside her father fabricating metals in his Machine Shop. Later in life, she enjoyed time knitting and simply spending time in her home with her husband, James.
Besides her husband, Virginia is survived by her children, Jacob Scheffler of Las Vegas, NV, and Joshua Scheffler of Colorado; step mother of James J. Brosnan IV of Rhode Island, Ryan C. Brosnan of South Dakota, and David M. Brosnan of Florida; Grandmother of James and Cora Brosnan. Virginia was the sister of Anne Marie Omweg of Smithfield, RI, Regina Bharoacha of California, Monica Madigan of Coventry, RI, Kevin Dorgan of Florida, and the late Thomas and Maureen Dorgan.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the main entrance of the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 341 South County Trail, Exeter, on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 12:45 PM, where a Funeral Procession to the cemetery chapel will be formed. Committal Prayers and inurnment will follow. Those attending are invited to wear the color purple, Virginia's favorite color.
