WALTER W. OLSON

OLSON, WALTER W., 97, of Naples, Florida, formerly Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025. He was the husband of the late Edith (Sweet) Olson. 

Born in Providence, Walter was a son of the late Nels and Anna (Savecki) Olson. 

Before retiring to Florida, Walter was a lifelong Rhode Islander. He worked for the former Sunbeam Bread, working as a Delivery Driver and retiring as a District Manager. Walter enjoyed traveling and sightseeing throughout the United States, always from behind the wheel of his car. In his later years, he enjoyed playing Bingo, attending concerts, and sharing drinks during “Happy Hour” with his peers.  

He was the loving father of James Olson of West Warwick, Kathleen Rock and her husband Michael, of Coventry, Kim Rosen and her husband Thomas of  Naples, FL, Beth Roy and her husband Robert of Warwick. Adoring grandfather of Eric, Keith, and Thomas Rock, Heather and Thomas Rosen, and Robert, Matthew and Jonathan Roy; Great grandfather of 12. Walter was the brother of the late John Olson. 

Walter’s burial and Military Funeral Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter are respectfully private.
