DiFRANCO, WILLIAM G. “Bill”, 94, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at the Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was the beloved husband of nearly 72 years to the late Theresa “Teri” (Belanger) DiFranco.
Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late William and Anita (Garibaldi) DiFranco.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant, before he was Honorably Discharged. He worked at Quonset for several years in engineering. Bill and Teri’s journey together took them to 5 states and many homes. Bill was also a successful real estate agent in Rhode Island, having started in his 70s.
Bill was an avid golfer playing until he was 85. In later years he also enjoyed playing bocce and was known as the bocce king. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. In recent years he enjoyed the companionship of his faithful dog Lucky.
William was the loving father of Ronald DiFranco, Patricia Keenan and her partner Paul Rettenmyer, Cynthia DiFranco, and the late Gary DiFranco. Grandfather of 5, Rebecca, Eric, Monique, Michelle, Lindsey and great-grandfather of 8, Aiden, Emma, Gabriel, Henry, Brady, Robby, Vivian, and Dean. Brother of the late Dolores Masters.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM at Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (RTE 3), Coventry. A Funeral Service will commence at 12:00 PM (NOON). Burial and full military funeral honors to follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
