SNYDER, WILLIAM F. “Bill”, 75, of West Warwick, passed away at Kent Hospital on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Teresa (Pennacchia) Snyder.
Born in Berwick, Pennsylvania, William was a son of the late Leon and Marjorie (Lyons) Snyder.
Spending his early years growing up in Pennsylvania, Bill graduated from Columbia High School before enlisting into the United States Army, where he proudly served for eight years. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Bill then served an additional twelve years in the Rhode Island National Guard. As a civilian, Bill worked as a Correctional Officer at the Adult Correctional Facility for many years before working as a welder at General Dynamics Electric Boat, helping construct submarines and warships. Most recently Bill was employed at the VA Hospital, where he worked in the kitchen, helping his fellow veterans.
Bill’s time as a soldier is what brought him to Rhode Island where he would meet the love of his life, Teresa, and where they would raise their family. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed playing cards and was a huge fan of the New England Patriots. As an outdoorsman, Bill found solace fishing, camping, and hunting. Above all, time spent with his family is what he cherished most.
He is survived by his children, Robert Snyder (Lisa) of Ashaway, RI, Tammy Moore (Brad) of East Greenwich, RI, Christopher Snyder (Holly) of Glasgow, KY, Stacey Snyder (Matt) of Fryeburg, ME, and Vanessa Snyder of West Warwick, RI. Loving grandfather of Austin, Dylan, Elexis, Landyn, Nathan, Gabriell, Sammantha, Emma, Kaylee, Grayson, and Madason; great grandfather of 11. Bill was the brother of Mary Jean Hons, Melissa Baumer, and the late Judy Ann Molyneaux.
